THE SFM DESIGN OFFICE

Whilst a substantial part of design engineering work is focused on the needs of the aerospace industry, the range of sectors we serve continue to diversify and grow.

The skills of our design team are regularly applied to many differing sectors of industry and the impressive range of skills including: stress; pneumatic, hydraulics, and mechanical and electrical design environments know no bounds.

From conceptual scheming designs right up to fully detailed assembly drawings, the production of original designs to providing an outsourced design service or sometimes simply enhancing a client's work and increasing their capacity by taking on elements in-house - No two customers' requirements are the same.

The SFM Design Department can manage design projects whilst based at our offices or by outplacement at customers’ premises for longer term project work.

AFTER-MARKET DESIGN UPDATES

The provision of periodic design updates is a key SFM Technology service.

Our design engineers are highly experienced and have the skill set necessary to improve or advance existing designs; therefore taking advantage of their extensive knowledge gained through manufacture and use.

They can apply new materials and technologies (for example 3D/Additive Manufacturing!) which help allow existing manufacturing designs to remain at the cutting edge of engineering design.
